Reasons to love the birdie tweets box

This box set is all you need to attract a host of different birds to your garden. This set is comprised of our best selling feed mixes, feeder stations and nest box which will give your birds everything they need to settle in your garden. This set includes:

1 x Fair Trade Bird Nester (colours will vary as each product is handmade and unique). The nester has a sturdy inner frame for support and attached hooks at the rear and a long loop at the top ensure you can fasten the nester securely. As a result, these make it easier to site the nester in the natural leaf cover of ivy, bushes, trees or hedges. The nester has a small round entrance reinforced with steel. It is also slightly protruding to make it easy for birds to land and perch on.

1 x National Trust Peanut Cake Hanger and 1 x Peanut Cake. Hang your peanut cakes in style with these light weight, easy to use and attractive hangers. Peanut Cake Tubes are a great source of essential fats and calories for your garden birds. Our Peanut Cakes are one of the highest calorie foods that we produce and are a phenomenal success with garden birds. Formulated from animal and vegetable fats and bound with peanut flour they have proved irresistible to a wide range of species.

1 x National Trust Hanging Feeding Table. The National Trust Hanging Feeding Table is ideal for gardens with limited space or if you need a feeder to keep out of reach of pets. The stainless steel mesh bottom allows water to drain easily, keeping food fresh, and the large feeding area will allow a variety of species to feed at the same time. The table also has raised edges to prevent food blowing away in strong winds and the all-round visibility gives birds extra confidence when feeding.

1 x Bag of sunflower hearts (1kg). Sunflower hearts are a great garden feed as they are a favourite with lots of native bird species and can be used on the hanging feeding table. They are oil rich and full of energy meaning they are the perfect winter and sprint treat for birds. It also benefits your garden as they are no husks and so no waste goes onto your grass or paving.

1 x Bag of mealworm (100g). Replacing what birds already eat, mealworms feed particularly well as birds eat insects – making this a popular choice of food for all birds, but especially robins. Soaking in warm water also makes the mealworms popular amongst younger birds. These can be used on your hanging table feeder.

How to use the birdie tweets box

Position the bird nester in a sheltered space to keep out harsh weather. Preferably face the bird nester between North and South-East. A warm protected roosting space out of the prevailing wind can be a life saver for small birds during cold harsh weather conditions.

Site your National Trust hanging feeding table and peanut feeder in a sheltered position away from full sun and cold winds. Ideally place near a bush or tree to give birds a lookout point so they can check the area is free from predators before feeding.

Place sunflower seeds and mealworm on the hanging table feeder -remember to change food frequently to avoid spreading disease between birds and to remove stale food.
